The second game of the 2022 season will be a match up between the Florida High Seminoles and the Ponte Vedra Sharks. Game time is 7:00. This will be the first match up between the Seminoles and Sharks in over 20 years.

Ponte Vedra finished their 2021 campaign with an overall record of 4-6. Their district recored was 1-3, giving them a 5th place finish in the Class 7A District 3.

Last year’s leading receiver was Alex Cotto (2023), who averaged 44.5 yards per game. Wyatt Rogers (2023) and Ryan Smith (2024) were the second and third leading receivers respectively. The Sharks lost their top three running backs to graduation. The number 5 rusher from last season, Corey Bloss (2023) rushed for 165 yards on 29 carries.
Ponte Vedra’s leading scorer was returning quarterback Nathan Bunkosky (2023). This dual threat quarterback threw for 791 yards on 116 attempts and rushed for 242 yards on 75 carries of the nine games he played.
In addition to Bunkosky and Bloss, who were also defensive standouts, the Sharks will return a pair of defensive ends, Layne Swafford (2023) and Kingston Kamal (2023) who were the second and third sack leaders with a combined total of 4. The Shark’s leading tackler from the 2021 campaign, middle linebacker Trooper Price (2023), has transferred to North Florida Christian for the 2022 season. The only other top 10 tackler returning this season is Mack Gray (2023), who only appeared in six games and had 18 tackles.
