Last year’s leading receiver was Mekai Griffin (2024), who averaged 25.3 yards per game. John Hayes (2024) and Beau Beard (2023) were the second and third leading receivers respectively. The Celtics top running back in 2021 was Beau Beard, who rushed for 78.6 yards per game. The second and third leading rushers both graduated. Beard played 10 games and gained 786 yards on 143 carries, scoring 5 touchdowns and was the team’s leading scorer.
Trinity’s lost their 2021 quarterback to graduation. Their back up in 2021 was Jake Engelhardt (2023). Engelhardt only had three pass attempts during the 2020 and 2021 seasons. It remains to be seen if he will be the starting quarter back this Fall.
Defensively, The Celtics are returning their leading tackler, Outside Linebacker Donathan Lecorn (2023). Lecorn averaged 7.8 tackles per game. Two other returning defensive standouts include nose guard Tyler Simms (2023), who had 2.5 sacks and defensive back Brice Summerall (2023), who had 3 interceptions.
